Eco-feminista transfronteriza, hija del TLC y el neoliberalismo, transita entre el norte y el sur, la urbe y el campo, la cama y la cocina. Escribe a mano entre jornadas de trabajo o viajes en combi con una caótica letra infantil que rápidamente llena las hojas de sus pequeñas libretas artesanales. 

Eco-feminist from both sides of the border, a daughter of NAFTA & neoliberalism, she circulates between north & south, the urban & the rural, the bed & the kitchen. She writes by hand between work shifts & trips in colectivos with a chaotic childish handwriting that quickly fills up the pages of her small artisanal notebooks. 

 

Çecilia Rodarte

Çecilias nace en Distrito Federal, ahora CDMX, y ahí come ciudad y Luna. Sus imágenes son producto de ello, pero también de cierta añoranza y búsqueda de la voz de la Naturaleza: capta aquello que las huellas guardan y dicen aún. Está pegada a una cámara, pero la escritura es su primer amor. 

Çecilias is born in Distrito Federal, currently CDMX, where she eats city and Moon. Her images are the result of such a menu just as they are of certain nostalgia and longing for Nature’s voice: she captures what footprints have recorded and are still saying. She’s pasted to a camera but writing is her first love.  

 

Constanza Jaramillo

Nació en Medellín y pasó por Ciudad de México de donde recuerda algunos gansos que pueden ser sueños; creció entre el esmog y os eucaliptos tristes de Bogotá; pasó por la Carolina del Norte de magnolias enigmáticas, Baltimore de escritores y monjas viajeras y se posó en Brooklyn unos años antes de volver a los bosques del sur. Por ir de un lado a otro carga con nostalgia. 

Was born in Medellín & went through Mexico City where she remembers a few geese that could be just dreams; she grew up between the smog & the sad eucalyptus of Bogotá; traversed North Carolina & its enigmatic magnolias, Baltimore of writers & traveling nuns and she perched in Brooklyn a few years before returning to the southern woods. Due to the back & forth she’s loaded with nostalgia. 

 

Fernanda Villava

Nació en Guadalajara en el año del temblor (1985). Renace cada vez que bucea. Desearía tener agallas para mudarse bajo las olas. Aspira a escribir como el mar, en oleadas. Casi siempre le sale un tsunami, así que recoge aprendizajes de los escombros y vuelve a empezar. 

Fernanda was born in Guadalajara in the year of the earthquake (1985). Comes back to life every time she scuba dives. She’d like to have gills and move underwater. Her aim is to write like the sea, in waves. Usually she draws a tsunami, so she ends up picking up the wreckage and starts all over again. 

 

Luciana Erregue

Desde su infancia en su pueblo de las pampas argentinas, Luciana Erregue siempre se imaginó pez. Escribir sobre el agua desde su Canadá adoptivo es lo más cercano a cumplir ese sueño.

Ever since her childhood in the Argentinean Pampas, Luciana Erregue saw herself as an under-the-sea creature. Writing about water from her adoptive Canada is the closest she will come to fulfilling that fantasy.

 

Karina Escamilla

Ciudadana del mundo, nacida en la Ciudad de México, Karina radica en NYC. Le apasiona el arte en todas sus manifestaciones. 

Citizen of the world, Karina was born in Mexico City and now lives in NYC. She is passionate about art in all its manifestations. 

 

Maité Iracheta

Criada en Lomas de Guadalupe, una improbable trayectoria la llevó a recrearse en Stapleton. Tras su penúltimo viaje, le pintó bigotes a la foto del pasaporte; tras el último, trigotes. Antes del incidente, se descubría el Ecuador en la playa. Es propensa a la hoja líquida y a los acentos en el lugar erroneó.

Raised in Guadalupe Heights, an improbable trajectory pulled her to recreate herself in Stapleton Slope. After her penultimate trip, she added a mustache to her passport photo; after the ultimate, a beard. She used to reveal her Equator at the beach before the incident. Tends to liquid pages & vowels on the wrong sopt. 

 

Paulina Ascencio

Es Aries. Nació en Guadalajara, México pero ahora vive en Nueva York, a donde llegó persiguiendo rocas y minerales. Es curadora y estudiante del Ph.D. en Antropología en NYU.

An Aries. She was born in Guadalajara, México and now lives in New York where she arrived chasing rocks and minerals. She’s a curator and a PhD candidate in Anthropology at NYU.  

 

Ruby Bilger

Ruby Bilger se tumbó al sol berlinés, almorzó, jugó a cachar una lima y ahora está trabajando.

Laid under the Berlin sun, had lunch, played catch with a lemon, and now she’s working.

 

Twinky Tecolote

Después de fugarse del celofán, Twinky Tecolote pinta alas rojo volcánico en los urinarios para mantenerse despierte cinco noches seguidas.

After escaping cellophane, Twinky Tecolote paints volcanic red wings on the stalls to stay awake five nights straight.
